Alex and Karlee first met at a Young Adults Small Group at Southland Christian Church. After the second week, Alex noticed that they were both in the digital marketing field and asked Karlee to go to drinks so they could "talk marketing". Both of them were adamant to their friends and family that this was NOT a date, just 2 people going to talk about their careers.

4.5 hours later, both Alex and Karlee knew that there was something deeper here than just "marketing". The two decided to spend more time together at Red River Gorge 3 days later but ended up seeing each other every day in between - thrifting, going to lunch, and moving Karlee out of her apartment at the time and into her new house.

Alex and Karlee spent quite a bit of time together over the next month or so, all leading up to 3/17/2024. The two went to a concert at The Burl in Lexington to see a band they had not heard before called Tophouse with their favorite plus-one, Hannah Brown. At the concert, Alex and Karlee can both recall the moment that they knew they were in love with each other, however they were not officially dating at the time. In fact, Karlee told Alex that she was falling in love with him later that evening, to which Alex responded: "Does this mean that we're dating?". The feelings were mutual, and Alex and Karlee have been inseparable ever since.

The remainder of 2024 included adventures such as Keeneland, Railbird Festival, UK games, hikes, and trips to Franklin, Cedarburg, New Orleans, St. Louis, Orlando, and North Carolina. Early on, Alex and Karlee knew that this was different and quickly saw that life was simply better with each other in it.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Alex asked Karlee's father for his blessing to marry Karlee. On December 22, 2024, Alex and Karlee visited Chattanooga, TN and spent the day at Ruby Falls, Rock City, and planned to watch the sunset at Sunset Rock. After some logistical complications, they ended up watching the Sunset at Point Park, where Alex popped the question.

Since December, Alex and Karlee have been a busy couple, traveling, working, spending time with friends & family, and have not only been planning a wedding, but a move to Nashville. The couple is beyond excited for what their life together will look like in the coming years.
